The Braves are looking to avoid the 0-4 hole and I am expecting them to play with desperation and to give AJ Smith-Shawver some support against Nick Pivetta and the 3-0 Padres. San Diego last started 4-0 back in 1984, so history is against it here. I think the hungry and desperate road dog is the correct call on Sunday. Atlanta only has one base hit in 22 at bats with runners in scoring position. That's abnormally terrible and a correction feels imminent. Also note that the Padres will be without slugger Manny Machado after leaving yesterday's game with a leg injury. Pivetta makes his first start for the Padres, and I say it'll be a rough one.
