Result: Win
The Minnesota Wild are looking to defend their perfect 2-0-0 home record as the Tampa Bay Lightning are coming to Xcel Energy Center. The visitors have won three out of four games on a road trip that ends in Minnesota tonight, but this should be a good spot to back the home team.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Wild's Defense - Darcy Kuemper is arguably the hottest keeper in the NHL right now. All of his three wins this season has been shutout wins, and he has saved 96 of 98 shots fired at him. But Kuemper aside, this Wild team is looking good on the defense through and through. They are allowing the least amount of shots of any team in the league, and have killed 93% of their penalties surrendering only one goal while being a man down.
2. Home Cookin' - Not only are the Wild undefeated at home this season, they have won seven of their last eight home games last season included and finished the 2013-2014 season with a solid 26-10-5 home record. They have won six of their last eight home games versus the Lightning.
3. X-factor - This will be the Lightning's fifth road game in a week. Expect to see some tired legs from the visitors tonight.
Selection: This is a play on the Minnesota Wild (8*)
