The Coach's Center Ice Report - 7:30 PM Start 33-21 NHL YTD
(NHL) New Jersey vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -155.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win
The Detroit Red Wings are coming off three consecutive road losses, but they've won all of their last three games at Joe Louis Arena. The visting New Jersey Devils are coming straight from St. Louis where they fell 4-3 last night, and I think they will leave Detroit as losers as well.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Goaltending match-up - Jimmy Howard was rested in Wednesday's loss against the Rangers and should be fresh as a daisy for this fixture. He's winless over his last two games, despite conceding only four goals on 56 shots and is showing a 1.96 GAA for the season. Cory Schneider was pulled with 12 minutes to go in the 4-3 loss against the Blues yesterday after allowing three goals on 25 shots. It's unclear if he will get another shot tonight, the other alternatives are Scott Clemmensen (6.56 GAA) and Keith Kinkaid (5.83 GAA).

2. Road Woes - The Devils started the season by winning three consecutive road games, but have since lost three of their last four away from home getting outscored 20-11. Coming to Detroit has been a difficult task over the recent seasons, with New Jersey leaving town as losers in 10 of the last 11 visits.

3. X-factor - New Jersey has the worst penalty kill in the NHL, conceding a goal on almost exactly a third of its penalties.

Selection: This is a play on the Detroit Red Wings (8*)
