Saturday Night GOY
KC is expected to be without several key starters led wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, safety Eric Berry and running back Jamaal Charles. Their OL which averages 23.8 years of age is a major concern.
Matt Cassel has looked fine for Minnesota. This is also a game in which rookie Teddy Bridgewater will play with a regular season intensity. While I was extremely critical of Christian Ponder as a starting QB, all of a sudden Minnesota has the best third string QB in the league, which could come in handy for a late backdoor cover.
The Chiefs are in some disarray at cornerback. They have already made a change in the starting lineup, replacing Ron Parker with Sean Smith, but then Smith had a difficult game against Carolina last week. The Chiefs are also missing their best safety, Eric Berry.
The Chiefs started 9-0 but lost six of their last eight games, counting the playoff defeat against Indianapolis. So look for them to pace themselves mentally making this so-called dress rehearsal of minimal urgency. Road underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points after consecutive straight up wins, with a winning record in the preseason are 52-17.
