The Angels are just a few games back of first place Houston in the AL West. However, it may be Texas that both clubs have to worry about. The Rangers are closing the gap fast and trail LA by just 1 1/2 games. The Angels have lost five of their last six after dropping the first two games of this series with the Royals. They will turn to Hector Santiago tonight. Santiago has been consistent, allowing three runs or less in four of his last five starts. The problem has been run support, with Santiago getting just four total runs of support in his last two starts. Yordano Ventura is coming off a very good start for the Royals, allowing 0 runs over six innings to the Tigers. Ventura also struck out eight. The one knock has been control, with Ventura walking nine batters over his last 11 innings. Still, the Royals are 7-2 in their last nine games and I look for a sweep here with a win this afternoon.
