The Horned Frogs are much improved under first-year coach Jamie Dixon, who returned to his alma mater to revive the long-dormant program. He attention has been on defense this year. But they built the bulk of their glossy early record with wins over meager non-conference opponents. They have lost two of their last three, with the lone win coming barely against short-handed Oklahoma. Youth-laden Texas is a work in progress, but I still expect the Longhorns to reach the upper-tier of the Big 12, throughout the year as they gain experience.
