At the beginning of the year, I had Wisconsin as a top 5 team in college basketball. The Badgers have yet to live up to that billing, but they still have everything it takes to make the Final Four.
Wisconsin has six seniors among its top eight players who are experienced. The Badgers are 12th in the nation in defensive efficiency. They are the 28th best free throw shooting team and are second in turnover percentage which are major keys for teams in the tournament.


The Badgers play in the Big Ten which is easily the best conference this season while the ACC was mediocre. Wisconsin is rated 11th in Ken Pomeroy’s rankings which is well ahead of the Tar Heels who are 28th. Lastly, NC is very young, as seven of its top players are freshmen.
