Illinois had high expectations going into the season with the return of Kofi Cockburn — who averages an astounding 21.1 points and 11.8 rebounds. At first, the Fighting Illini began the year stumbling going 2-2. Since then, Illinois has gone 11-3 and now sits at 13-5. Tuesday's game against Michigan State has become a must-win for the Fighting Illini after losing two straight. Losing to Purdue is understandable, but their loss against struggling Maryland (81-65) on Friday was a bit concerning. They are now back home and I expect their defense to be the difference and Illinois to get back on track with a big win and cover tonight!
