After last week’s excellent result, the Guardians will go with Aaron Civale in the first game of this series. He fired seven shutout innings last week against Seattle, allowing just two singles and one walk while striking out three. This time around I expect the Mariners to fair much better.
Civale is coming off a career-worst 4.92 ERA from last season. He will not be as sharp as last week facing the same lineup, and I expect him to get tagged in this game, giving up at least four runs. The Mariners are off to a poor start offensively, but they have a ton of talent and I expect the bats to wake up especially seeing Civale for the second time.
