The Mustangs should have all the momentum heading into this matchup with Rice. With 15 wins already, the Mustangs certainly are in a good position to surge past the 20-win total this season and improve their chances of making the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid should they fail to win the AAC Tournament. The Mustangs face a Rice team that has struggled on both ends of the floor in conference play, particularly the defensive end. Rice is near the bottom of all major defensive categories while also being turnover-prone. Look for SMU to take advantage of Rice miscues and create easy baskets on the offensive end.
