Sam Houston, the #1 seed, played on Wed and beat FIU by 19. UTEP as the 5 seed played last night and they trailed by 12 with 9 minutes left outscoring Liberty 24-3 down the stretch. The Miners have now won 4 straight but all 4 games were vs teams that were the bottom 3, in two point defense while Sam Houston was #2. That matchup is important as UTEP is #24 in the percentage of 2-pt shots taken. UTEP finished playing about 9 PM last night and are now playing at 12:30pm this afternoon and will be tired.
