The Angels and Marlins meet up in a game with two exciting pitching prospects. The Marlins have to be stunned at getting swept by the Pirates to start their season. The Angels fared a little better, finding a win on Sunday to avoid the sweep against a tough Orioles squad.

Chase Silseth will get the call for the Angels and he should be able to give them 3-5 solid innings. He posted a 1.08 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 5:2 K:BB over 8.1 innings in Cactus League play. Silseth has 4 big league pitches which is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do this year for the Angels. He has a big fastball that runs up to 98mph, but his best pitches are his secondary ones, a swing and miss curve, a tight slider, and a splitter with good depth. He looks to be developing well, pitching 52 innings for the big league club last year for a 3.96 ERA.

The Marlins will counter with right hander Max Meyer who went 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA in his two MLB appearances, totaling six innings.
