Is Arizona a good team that's just fallen on some bad luck to open the season?

The Coyotes have always done marginally better than most expect out of them the last few seasons, but they've sure been terrible to open the season so far. They're just 0-7-0-1. Most recently they're off a 2-0 loss to the Capitals, letting in a late goal in the third period, and another empty netter in the final moments.

Arizona is just 1-7 on the puckline to start.

Completely different for Carolina, as it's 7-0 (also 7-0 on the puckline.) However, off three straight home wins, and with a few days off before hitting the road for a three-game road trip, I say that the Hurricanes get caught looking past their lowly opponent today.

Also note that the Canes are just 2-7 in their last nine after three or more straight home victories in a row.

I say the more desperate side will at the very least, take this one right down to the wire.
