We have a super interesting Western Conference matchup here.
The Lakers are 15-13 and the Mavericks are 14-13.
These teams were supposed to be two of the best the league, but for varying reasons they've eached obviously struggled for the most part to this point.
But each comes into this game healthy. Each is super hungry for a win here. I am expecting some offensive fireworks.
Each side's recent numbers would make you believe that we'd see a really lower-scoring game here, as LA has seen the total go UNDER the number in four straight games, while Dallas has seen the total dip UNDER the number in seven in a row.
But I think all of these UNDERS have driven this particular total now just a little TOO low.
This is the first matchup of the year between the teams, and I expect a faster pace.
Scoring is obviously WAY WAY down in the league this year, but one last stat or trend I'll throw out at you here is that despite all their recent lower-scoring games, the Mavericks have still seen the total go OVER the number in ten of their last 14 after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Both teams push the pace from the opening tip until the final horn, and that's going to result in this one flying OVER the posted number on Wednesday night.
