This is an 8* BLOWOUT on the Bills.
The Panthers were expected to start all four of their quarterbacks last weekend, but the morning of the game, they suddenly announced that Baker Mayfield was going to be the starter in Week 1, so he didn't even end up playing. The line went from +3 to +6.5 right away, and in the end the Patriots won by a score of 20 to 10 anyways.
And it's still unclear I think at this point of Mayfield will play in the final Week 3 game here against the Bills.
Buffalo takes the pre-season really seriously. It's now won and covered in ten straight preseason games.
Typically I like to go against big lop-sided trends or streaks like this. I love standing in front of the train and prognasticating the moment one of those long streaks or runs will finally come to an end.
But in this case, I just don't see it happening here against the Panthers.
The Bills looked dominant in their 42-15 win home win over the Broncos last weekend and despite Josh Allen obviously not playing, I still think that Buffalo is the correct call in this one.
I think only the Ravens take the pre-season more seriously than the Bills. Yes, Allen won't be playing, but Case Keenum and Matt Barkley both have plenty of experience and I really do think the Bills want to close out the regular seaosn with a perfect record and hit the ground running the competitive AFC East.
The Panthers may or may not play starters and veterans again today, but the Bills are just the deeper all around team, and I think that Sean McDermott is a better coach than Matt Rhule as well.
Consider even sprinkling a little on the "money line" in this one, but the official call will be to grab as many points as you can with BUFFALO tonight.
