This is a 9* play on Old Dominion.

Virginia Tech is the better team, but ODU is catching Virginia Tech at the right time here in Week 1 as it tries to figure things out.

VT is still trying to figure out its QB situation, with Marshall transfer Grant Wells and South Carolina transfer Jason Brown are both in the mix.

There's also some new faces on the offensive line that ODU can take advantage of.

Old Dominion is now a part of the Sun Belt, and it's going to be a handful for the new league with plenty of experience returning on both sides of the ball.

The Hokies will be fine, but this is a tricky team filled with veterans. And the fact that it's on the road makes it even more difficult.

Remember, in 2018 ODU pulled off the stunning 49-35 home win over the Hokies, and this 2022 version is even better.

I'm not calling for the outright, but do expect this one to be decided late.
