New York had won five in a row, before dropping the final two games of a four-game series in Oakland over the weekend. That includes in yesterday's 4-1 setback.

I look for the hungry Yankees to bounce back here in this favorable matchup on Monday in LA though and not only win, but win by a sizeable margin.

The Angels return home after a very satisfying three-game sweep in Toronto over the weekend. LA had lost six straight before the series sweep North of the border. A return to mediocrity seems imminent here.

LA sends Jose Suarez (4-6, 4.19 ERA) to the hill, and he's 1-1 with a 6.23 ERA in 13 innings vs. the Yanks.

Frankie Montas (4-10, 3.84) counters for New York. He's 0-1 with a 7.32 ERA in four starts for the Yankees. Clearly he can't be happy about that, but a date vs. the Angels is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked as over 15 appearances against them (which includes 12 starts) he's 4-2 with a 2.30 ERA spanning 70 1/3's frames of work.

Look for Montas to finally settle down here in a place he's familiar with and for the Yanks' big bats to do the rest.
