The Minnesota Twins will look to gt off to aa good start to this shortened season by taking on their Central Division foes, the Chicago White Sox. To get things going, the Twins will send Jose Berrios into the mound. Last season, he went 14-8 record with a 3.68 ERA and 195 strikeouts. He was an impressive 4-1 with a 2.88 ERA in five starts against the White Sox last year. The Twins offense pounded the ball last season, leading the league in home runs. They will look to duplicate that this year and pound their opponents into submission.
The Sox will also be looking for a hot start as they have a lot of young talent to go with some key veterans. The Sox will send Lucas Giolito out to the mound for his first Opening Day. He went from the worst pitcher in the league two years ago to one of the better young arms in baseball. He went 14-9 last season with a 3.41 ERA and 228 strikeouts. He was 2-2 with a 3.24 ERA versus Minnesota in 2019. The Whitesox have a lot of talent on offense and will be an exciting team to watch this year.
The White Sox are 4-1 in their last five home games and 4-1 in their last five versus the AL Central. The Sox young players will want to get the season off on the right foot as many feel they can make a run in a shortened season. I like Giolito and the young bats to carry the Sox to an opening day win.
PLay on the Chicago White Sox. This is a 7* play.
