(MLB) Kansas City vs. Detroit,
Money Line: 124.00 Kansas City (Away)
Result: Win
Money Line: 124.00 Kansas City (Away)
Result: Win
These two teams were expected to battle for the worst team in baseball. The Tigers have been a bit of a surprise out of the gate winning two of their first three games.
The Royals offense has not started the season running. In their first three games, they put up a measly five runs with one of those came in extra innings. Three games into the season the Royals have only two players, Salvador Perez and Whit Merrifield, hitting over two hundred. The Royals will need to rely on their starting pitching and will hand the ball to Mike Montgomery for this game against the Tigers. He was just 2-7 in 13 starts with a 3.99 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He pitched well against Detroit last season, giving up just 1 earned run in 12 ⅔ innings with a 0.71 era.
The Tigers have been somewhat lucky the last two days in their wins, as they have needed ninth-inning home runs to get them there. Detroit will look to keep their good fortunes rolling by sending Michael Fulmer tot he mound. Fulmer is coming off Tommy ohn surgery so you can’t respect him to go long as their manager has said he would probably be used as an opener. Before he got hurt, he was not pitching well as he was just 3-12 with a 4.69 ERA and 110 strikeouts.
Montgomery has pitched well against the Tigers. This looks to be a bullpen game for the Tigers and that should give the KC hitters a chance to wake up and put up a few runs.
Play on Kansas City. This is a 7* play
