The Ohio State Buckeyes head into the National Championship Game with a 7-0 record and are going for their ninth national title in school history. The offense is led by Justin Fields with 1,521 passing yards, to go with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Fields has two or more touchdown passes in 18 of his last 19 games. His favorite targets have been Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, who have combined to catch passes for 1,149 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a team, the Buckeyes rushing attack is putting up 275.6 yards a game and is led by Trey Sermon with 675 yards and three touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, they are giving up 21 points and 358 yards a game.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have run the table and have posted a 13-0 record and looking for their 18th national title in school history. The Alabama Crimson Tide have won eight straight non-home games. The offense is led by Mac Jones with 3,739 passing yards, to go with 32 touchdowns and four interceptions. Jones has nine touchdown passes in his last three games. His favorite targets have been DeVonta Smith and John Metchie III, who have combined to catch passes for 2,293 yards and 23 touchdowns. The Crimson Tide rushing attack is putting up 189.8 yards a game and is led by Najee Harris with 1,262 yards and 24 touchdowns. On the defensive side, they are giving up 19.5 points and 351.2 yards a game.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have the best offensive and defensive lines in the country and should be able to control things in the trenches. Ohio State has an NFL caliber quarterback and speed at the playmaking positions, Trey Sermon is starting to look like the running back people thought he was going to be at Oklahoma. I like Bama's receivers to take advantage of a Buckeye secondary that has been suspect this season and for the offensive line to wear down the Buckeye defense and that will allow Harris to take over late.
Play on Alabama. This is a 10* play.
