Point Spread: -6.00 | -102.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the road as they travel to face former NFC Central rivals the Detroit Lions. The Lions own a 32-28 advantage in their all-time series, including a 20-6 road win earlier this season. Tampa Bay finished the regular season by winning five of their last six games. During the regular season, the Buccaneers were 12th in scoring at 20.5 points per game, On the defensive side, they were 7th in points allowed at 19.1 points per game. Detroit won their first playoff game since 1991 and were rewarded with another home game after the Packers upset Dallas. The Lions ranked in the top five in most offensive categories, including 2nd in passing, 5th in rushing, and 5th in scoring at 27.1 points per game. The defense stepped up when needed against the Rams last weekend but for the season they finished 23rd in scoring defense at 23.2 points per game. When the Lions won the earlier meeting, they were able to the Buccaneers to 46 yards on the ground. Mayfield struggled, going 19 of 37 for 206 yards and an interception. Detroit was missing a few key players in that game and the return of James Houston to the defense which even in limited play should add to the pass rush. Detroit has given up at least 20 points in nine of their last 10 games. Detroit will win this game and I like them to ride the momentum from the home crowd to carry them to a 7-10-point win.
