As a game that is projected to go over the total of 8.5 runs, I think this favors the Cardinals who are by far the better batting team and has a comparable fielding unit to prevent the most damage from hits. This is Staumounts first start of the year, and he's only played 17 inning so far; giving up 13 hits and 9 runs, walking 10 batters and striking out 21 in that stretch. Adam Wainwright starting on the mound for STL and he is 2-0 as the starter, but has been hit a fair amount in his time on the mound this season. The point is, the Reds, Dodgers, and Redsox were his last 3 batting lineups he faced, and those are all better teams than the Royals at the plate. I expect a much better game from Adam, and less stress put on the fielding unit vs a Royals team that has struggled on the road to generate runs.
