Arkansas State is coming into this game playing much better recently as they have won their last 3 straight games. They have won their last 3 straight after losing their first 2 games of the season but they still do not have any good wins in that span. Their wins have come against an FCS team in Stony Brook, at home to Southern Miss who has been struggling on defense recently, and on the road against UMass who finds ways to lose games every week with one of the worst teams in the country this year. Arkansas State is 1-0 in conference games this season as well but now they are going up against a Troy team that has also been much better recently and Troy needs to win this game at home at 1-1 in the conference to get back into the title race. Troy has played much better recently as they have won their last 2 straight games and their wins have come against much better teams as well as their losses too. They got blown out by Kansas State who won the Big 12 Championship last season but followed that up with a 2 point loss against 5-0 James Madison. They were much better in their last 2 games as they won at home against Western Kentucky and then went on the road in their last game and beat Georgia State who was 4-0 at the time. Now they are going to have some confidence from that conference road win and they are coming back home to play against one of the worst teams in the Sun Belt this year.
