UTEP is coming into this game with a 1-5 record this season and they have been awful in their games recently. Their only win this year came against an FCS team in Incarnate Word and they have lost their last 4 straight games since then. They have also been blown out by double digits in all 4 of those games as their closest loss was a 14 point loss at home against Louisiana Tech in their last game. UTEP also has one of the worst scoring offenses in the country as they are averaging around 16 points scored per game this year which is ranked 130th out of 133 teams. They are going up against an FIU team that has also been bad as they are 0-3 in their conference games but they are actually 3-3 overall and have been much better than UTEP this season. They have lost their last 2 straight games against Liberty who is one of the best in the conference this year and on the road against New Mexico State which is a tough place to play. They are going to be very hungry to bounce back at home in this game though, especially since they are 0-3 in the CUSA and need a win at home here badly. Their offense has been scoring more points per game this season than UTEP and their defense has also been allowing less points. FIU also went to El Paso last year and got smashed 40-6 so they are also going to be hungry for their revenge here against a much worse UTEP team this season and FIU has also won both meetings against UTEP at home in their history. FIU is going to win this game at home.
