The Avalanche are coming into this game with a 1-4-0 record this season and they have been awful in their games. They are coming off of their 1st win of the season in their last game which was a 4-3 win at home in OT against the Ducks. Their defense has been awful as well as their goaltending all season, allowing at least 3 goals in each of their 5 games and allowing at least 5 goals in 4 of their 5 games. This is also going to be just their 2nd road game of the season as they have played their last 4 straight games at home, their only road game this year being an 8-4 loss in Vegas. They are going up against a Sharks team that is 0-3-2 this season and they have also been awful in their games this season. They have played in some closer games though with 1 of their losses coming in OT and 1 of their losses coming in a shootout as well. They are coming off of an 8-3 loss to the Jets in their last game, but they are going to be hungry to bounce back from that embarrassment and they will be extra motivated since they are still searching for their 1st win of the season. They have also played their last 3 straight games on the road so they will play much better at home as they were in their 2 games there this season. Their 2 losses at home were a 2-0 loss to the Ducks which their defense played great in and a 5-4 loss in OT to the Blues in a game they had a 4-1 lead in, but that was also their 1st game of the season. The Avalanche have been banged up to start the season but their defense has been a big problem as they are not keeping anyone out of their net and this is a Sharks team that can score goals and will be hungry to find the net here at home and get their 1st win. This is a good spot for the Sharks to win their 1st game of the season. The Sharks will win this game at home.
