Result: Win
Maine is coming into this game with a 2-2 record this season and they have been very competitive in their games to start the season. They were not a great team last season as they finished 2 games under .500 both overall and in their conference, but that season was an improvement from Chris Markwood's 1st year coaching the team. Now Markwood is in his 3rd season coaching this team and has some returning players from last year as well so they are going to be looking to take a big step this season and improve even more. They are coming off of a 3 point loss on the road against Quinnipiac in their last game, but prior to that they won 2 straight games with wins against Brown on the road by 2 and at home against a team that does not play in Division I. Their only severe loss this season came in their 1st game of the season and it was on the road against Duke who is by far one of the better programs in the country. They are going up against a Richmond team that is 1-3 this season and has not been playing well to start the season. Richmond had a lot of seniors on the team last season so they have really taken a hit this year with the loss of talent and they have some bad losses already under their belt. Their only win this season came at home in their 1st game against Mount Olive who is not a Division I team. They have lost their last 3 straight games with a 7 point loss at home to Marist, a 17 point loss on the road against Charlotte, and a 4 point loss on the road in double OT against Bucknell in their last game. Their defense has not been great either as they have allowed 79+ points in 2 of their last 3 games and they have allowed 65+ points in all 4 of their games this season, including their game against the team that is not Division I. Maine has not only been competitive in their games this season, but their defense has also been good as they have not allowed 60 points in 2 of their last 3 games, and they have not allowed more than 67 points in their last 3 straight either. Maine will cover the spread in this game.
