Purdue is coming into this game with a 1-9 record this season and they are 0-7 in the conference. They have been the worst team in the Big 10 all season, but they have also had a very tough stretch of schedule recently. They have lost their last 9 straight games with their only win this season coming against an FCS team at the start of the season, but they have played better against weaker opponents recently. They have been getting blown out in 3 of their last 4 games, but they played Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State in that span who are all top 4 teams in the conference. Their last 2 games that were not against top 4 teams in the conference were much closer though, losing at home in OT by 6 against Northwestern and losing on the road by 1 point in OT against Illinois who is a ranked team. Purdue is going to be hungry for their 1st conference win and their 1st FBS win of the season, and they are going up against a Michigan State team that is 4-6 this season and 2-5 in the conference. Michigan State has not been playing well recently as they have lost their last 3 straight games and their defense has been awful in these. They have lost their last 2 straight games by 20+ points and they allowed 38+ points in each of those games. Their offense has not been good either as they have scored 17 points or less in their last 3 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games. Purdue has played in much closer games against weaker opponents recently and with their last game of the season coming up against a still undefeated Indiana team, they are going to throw everything they have into this game to try and finally get a conference win this season.
