Duke is coming into this game with a 3-1 record this season, but this is not the same Duke team as last season. Duke was able to recruit some very good players this year, but they still lost 2 of their starters from last season to the NBA and they also lost Roach who was a big part of that team. They are returning Proctor as well as recruiting some very good talent, but they already have a loss this season against the only ranked team they faced. They were dominant in their 3 wins against Maine, Army, and Wofford as they won all 3 of those games by 30+ points, but those are all much weaker teams and all 3 of those wins came at home as well. Their only loss this season came by 5 points to Kentucky and that game was only in a neutral location, now playing their 1st true road game of the season here. They are going up against an Arizona team that is 2-1 this season and is going to be well rested for this game. Arizona lost 1 of their starters from last season to the NBA and also lost Ballo to Indiana, but they made some good moves in the transfer portal and returned a lot of bench players who will be looking to step up this year now that they are getting their shot. They also returned Caleb love who was their top scorer last season. They dominated Canisius and Old Dominion in their first 2 games of the season, winning both games by 20+ points, but they are coming off of a loss in their last game. They lost on the road by 15 points against Wisconsin and that loss was last Friday so they have been sitting on that bad game for a week now. Arizona has been dominant in their 2 home games though and they are going to be hungry to bounce back from that loss as this is a great opportunity to get a win against a ranked team where they have played their best at home. Duke already put their loss to Kentucky behind them with a dominant win in their last game, and this is a bit of a look ahead spot for Duke with their next game against an undefeated Kansas team who is ranked number 1 in the country.
