Point Spread: -4.50 | -120.00 Red Wolves (ARST) (Home)
Result: Win
Saint Louis is coming into this game with a 19-14 record this season and they were 11-7 in their conference. They lost in their conference tourny to Loyola Chicago 72-64 in their last game and they have not played well recently. They have 2 wins and 2 losses in their last 4 games, but 1 of those wins was a 2 point win in OT at home against Duquesne as they have been struggling more recently. They have not played well on the road recently either, losing 3 of their last 4 games on the road with all 3 losses coming by 8+ points and their only win in that span being a 1 point win against Davidson. They also struggled in their non-conference schedule this season as they were 7-6 to start the year and did not have a strong schedule either, seeing no power conference schools in that span. They are going up against an Arkansas State team that is 24-10 this season and they were 13-5 in their conference. They finished in a 4-way tie for 1st place in the Sun Belt, but they lost 94-81 to Troy in the conference tourny which caused them to miss the NCAA Tournament. They are still a very good team though that will be turning focus to winning this tournament, and they have been playing well recently as they have won 5 of their last 6 games. They have lost 2 of their last 3 games at home with those 2 losses coming against 2 other teams in the conference that finished with the same record, but they have still been dominant at home this season as they have won 13 of their 15 games there this season and their last 7 wins at home have all been by 10+ points. They were also good against non-conference opponents as they were 9-4 this season and had some quality wins against Akron and Memphis who is ranked. Arkansas State has been very good all season and even tested themselves a few times with their non-conference schedule. They have a big advantage at the rim with their rebounding and they are better at defending shots as well. Arkansas State will cover the spread in this game.
