They are 58th in total defense and 39th in points allowed, giving up just 19.8 ppg. ULM also just allowed 19 points to a high-powered JMU offense last week.

The Southern Miss defense has struggled, but they are very solid against the pass, which means that ULM will run a lot, chewing up plenty of the clock. Both teams will have their issues scoring and that will lead to a low scoring game.
