6* Minnesota vs Illinois
(NCAAF) Minnesota vs. Illinois,
Total: 39.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Loss
I don’t understand why this OU Line seems to be trending up. We have a couple of top 5 defenses and a couple of teams that run much more than they throw. This game will not come anywhere close to 40 points. Minnesota has been solid on offense overall and they are expected to get their top RB Mohamed Ibrahim back for this one, but still, they run the ball 22 more times per game than they throw it and Illinois is 4th in the nation against the run. The Illini are also 9th against the pass and 1st in points allowed, giving up just 8.0 ppg. The Minnesota Defense has been no slouch either as they come in ranked 1st in total yards allowed, 2nd against the pass, 5th against the run, and 2nd in points allowed, giving up just 8.8 ppg. On offense, Illinois is 102nd in passing, but 30th in rushing, so they will run the ball a ton here and that will eat up plenty of the clock. Lastly, the Under is 4-1 in Minnesota’s last 5 vs. a team with a winning record and 16-5 in Illinois’ last 21 vs. a team with a winning record.
