It’s tough to win when you don’t score. The Cyclones have learned that the hard way, averaging just 12 ppg in their last five tilts against Iowa. The Hawkeyes are coming off of a 40-0 beatdown vs Illinois State, surrendering just 187 total yards to the Redbirds. Of course, it’s easy to look good against lesser competition but I am cautiously optimistic this Iowa offense has taken a step forward.

For all of his success in Ames, Coach Matt Campbell is just 1-6 against the Hawkeyes and, with his team coming off of a game against North Dakota, where moving the ball was a lot harder than it should have been, I don’t see that record improving in this one.
