College Football Best Bet - Georgia State vs UConn
(NCAAF) Panthers (GST) vs. Huskies (UCONN),
Total: 48.50 | -115.00 Under
Result: Loss
The independent Huskies have racked up impressive defensive numbers (13th in EPA/play) against a schedule of subpar offensive teams. Fortunately, the Panthers fit squarely in that category. They are a pass-first team but the UConn zone defense does a great job at keeping everything in front of them and not giving up the big play and are 29th in the nation, giving up just 193.7 passing ypg.
Both of these teams struggle on 3rd down and, while the Huskies will likely find success running the football, starting quarterback Nick Evers is not great, throwing just 4TDs and 4 picks on the year. I look for time-consuming UConn drives with a lot of running clock to go along with several punts, especially from the Panthers.
