The Vikings aren’t great defensively ranking 23rd in total defense and 26th in scoring defense. Just in the last 3 weeks Minnesota has allowed 31 points to Dallas and 24 points to Jacksonville, two of the worst offenses in the NFL. They have allowed less than 20 points only once the entire year and that was vs the Bears who rank 28th in the NFL in scoring. Tampa ranks 6th in the NFL in scoring a nearly 29 PPG and that includes a 3 point effort a few weeks ago vs New Orleans, the top defense in the NFL. Tampa’s defense has solid numbers but they’ve given up at least 20 points in 6 straight games. Minnesota’s offense is more than capable ranking 2nd in the NFL averaging 6.3 yards per play. We know Tampa will put up points in this game and Minnesota is going to have to try and keep up. That means this one could turn into a shootout.
