#361/362 ASA PLAY ON 8* Over 44 Points – Cleveland @ NY Giants, Sunday at 8:20 PM ET - The Giant offense was stuck in reverse last week scoring only 7 points on 159 yards of total offense vs the Cards. We think that has kept this total lower than it should be giving up some value on the OVER. Last week an injured Daniel Jones played QB and he has zero mobility with a bad hamstring and it showed on the field. Colt McCoy, former Browns QB, will start this one and may have a little extra motivation facing his old team. Also, with NY OC Garrett out with covid, former Cleveland head coach Freddie Kitchens will be calling plays and he’d like nothing better than to beat the team that canned him. He’s going to have to open up the playbook here because the Giants will have to keep up on the scoreboard. They’re not slowing down this red hot Cleveland offense. They’ve scored 40+ points in each of their last 2 games vs the Titans & Ravens. They’ve also allowed 35 & 47 points in those 2 games. Cleveland has had 2 clunkers offensively this year vs Steelers (7 points) and Ravens (6 points). They’ve also had 3 games in gale force winds in Cleveland vs Raiders, Texans, and Eagles. If we throw out those 5 games, they are averaging 37 PPG this season. Even if we add in their games poor offensive games vs Pitt & Baltimore they are still averaging 31 PPG. The Giants have solid defensive numbers however, they’ve played a terrible slate of offenses. First off, 5 of their games have come against NFC East teams Eagles, Redskins, and Cowboys who are all poor on offense (all ranked 22nd or lower in YPP offense). Throw in games vs Chicago and Cincinnati and more than half of their games have come vs bad offensive teams. We mentioned the Giants will have to keep up on offense here and we think they can. Cleveland’s defense is not good. Again, throw out their 3 games in 35+ MPH winds and they are allowing 33 PPG. Temps in the mid 30’s and light winds (5 MPH) are perfect conditions for scoring here.
