VMI is just 1-9 SU on the road this year and they are favored in this game? Ridiculous. They have won only 4 of their last 36 true road games and they have no business being favored in this game. VMI was favored by just 3.5 at HOME in their other meeting this year and won by only 7 despite shooting 52% overall for the game and 87 % from the line making 26 FTs. Citadel, despite their 4-9 overall SOCON record, as a 4-3 record on home in conference play including wins over ETSU & Wofford and a tight 6 point loss vs Furman (the 3 of the 4 best teams in the conference). We really like this match up for Citadel at home as VMI relies HEAVILY on the 3-point shot and Citadel ranks 2nd in the conference at defending the 3 allowing only 32% on league games. Citadel has also has some bad luck so to speak with opponents hitting nearly 80% of their FT’s in conference play which is the highest in the SOCON. VMI has been a road favorite just 4 times since the start of the 2015 season and they lost 2 of those games outright. We like Citadel to win this one outright. Take the points.
