This is a 10* O/U EAST-COAST EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls.
Both teams come into this game off some pretty high-scoring affairs and each has stumbled of late in having lost two straight apiece. Poor defensive play has been the biggest culprit for both sides, so suffice it to say, I am expecting an extremely concerted effort from each team on that side of the floor tonight. Indiana is likely to be without the services of All-Star Paul George again tonight and will be looking to get back on track after consecutive losses to Boston and Toronto: "We still have a lot of high hopes," said Indiana guard Rodney Stuckey last night. "There's a lot of basketball to be played. We can't get down." A date vs. the injured Bulls is just what the doctor ordered to get back on track as note that the Pacers have already won two of the first three meetings vs. Chicago this year, holding it to an average of just 88.7 points and 37.5 percent shooting: "It's going to be a tough, grind it out road game but I like our chances," continued Stuckey. "We know it's a must-win game for us." Chicago is firmly entrenched in fourth place in the East, so doesn't need to panic about its injury issues, but will still be hungry tonight after losing five of its last six. After yielding just 92.7 points while winning four of their previous seven, the Bulls have allowed an average of 104.4 points over their last five: "We're good enough," Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau said Tuesday. "We've got to find a way to get it done." Note that Chicago has seen the total go UNDER the number in six of nine this year after playing three consecutive road games, in six of ten when playing with two days of rest and in 18 of 29 after a non-conference contest. And note that Indiana has seen the total dip below the posted number in four of seven this year as a road dog of three points or less. In my opinion, the situation, the numbers and the trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this contest.
