Result: Loss
This is an 8* play on the Chicago White Sox.
The White Sox hand the ball to Chris Sale who would strike out a season-high 14 batters in his team's 3-1 win over the Astros on Monday; Sale would end up allowing one run off five scattered hits over eight innings of work and has now posted double digit strikeouts in his last four starts and has thrown at least seven innings in each of his last six outings. And note that Sale has been particularly sharp in this spots all year long, 4-1 with a 3.41 ERA on the road and an even better 3-1 with a tiny 1.95 ERA in all "day" games. His counterpart Nathan Karns was shelled for five runs off nine hits over 5 2/3's innings of work in his team's 8-2 loss to the Angels on Tuesday. Karns continues to regress as the season wares on, he's not been able to pitch at least six innings in four of his last five starts. And unfortunately for Karns, a date at home is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked as he's 2-3 with a pedestrian 4.60 ERA in Tampa Bay. Sale gets the big nod here, I have no problem laying the price in a contest which I feel will never be in doubt, play on the WHITE SOX.
