This is a 7* BIG-CHALK PUCK-LINE DESTRUCTION on the Philadelphia Flyers.
Can the Lightning avoid a hangover after making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals, only to get demolished by the eventual champion Blackhawks this season? Only time will tell. Will the Flyers defy the odds and even make the postseason? Anything's possible. Both obviously have big expectations coming into this season and we believe the visiting side can catch the Lighting a little flat footed to open the campaign and to at the very least, take this one into the overtime periods to snag the comfortable cover with the 1.5 goals of insurance. To say this is a "revenge" game for the visitors would be a bit of an understatement as the Lightning are 13-3-1 vs. the Flyers since 2010, going 8-0-1 and winning seven straight at home. Ben Bishop returns to the net for Tampa Bay after offseason groin surgery, he'll have to keep his eyes open for Jake Voracek, who led the Flyers with 81 points last season. A difference maker for Philadelphia though is goaltender Steve Mason, arguably one of the best in the league, he was 18-18-11 with a highly respectable 2.25 GAA last year. While we wouldn't be completely shocked by an outright upset, we will in the end recommend laying the price for the extra 1.5 goals on the FLYERS.
