Result: Loss
The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to snap a season high four game skid as they host the Dallas Stars at Rogers Arena tonight. The visitors ended a four game losing streak of their own Satuday as they opened a three game home-stand which saw them go 2-1-0. They'll be back on the road now though for an all-Canadian trip which will take them to Calgary and Edmonton as well. The Stars have been poor away from home all season long, and the Canucks should get back on track with a win here.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Goaltending - Neither Kari Lehtonen or Ryan Miller have been particularly successful as of late, but I will give the Nucks the advantage here. Miller is 7-2-0 with a 2.50 GAA at home this season and had allowed only two goals over his last two home starts before the Rangers put five past him Saturday. Kari Lehtonen is 5-3 on the road but it's behind a hefty 2.99 GAA and he has conceded five goals at Toronto and six at Chicago his two most recent starts away from home.
2. Road Woes - The Stars have lost all of their last four away from home getting outscored 21-9.
3. X-Factor - Dallas has allowed one power play goal or more in five of their last six games, going 19-for-25 on the penalty kill.
Selection: This is a play on the Vancouver Canucks (8*)
