The Coach's WINGS/BLUES NHL *BLOCKBUSTER*
(NHL) Detroit vs. St. Louis,
Money Line: -160.00 St. Louis (Home)
Result: Loss
The Detroit Red Wings will conclude a six game road swing as they're coming to St. Louis to take on the Blues tonight. The hosts have opened a seven game home-stand with three consecutive victories, and have won all of their last five overall. Detroit has won four of its last six, but is 1-6 in its last seven against a team with a winning record, and I think it will struggle against a hot Blues side.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Goaltending - With Jimmy Howard injured the Red Wings are likely to give Petr Mrazek a fourth consecutive start. The Wings back-up will be up against a Blues offense that has tallied 30 goals over its last five games, going 7-for-18 on the power play. Brian Elliott is confirmed to start for the Blues and he is 6-2-0 behind a 1.93 GAA at home for the season.

2. Home Cookin' - The Blues have among the best home records in the NHL this season going 16-4-1 at Scottrade Center winning eight of their last nine in St. Louis.

3. X-Factor - Vladimir Tarasenko is third in the NHL with his 24 goals and has scored two adding three assists over his last three games.

Selection: This is a play on the St. Louis Blues (8*)
