"The Coach's" ANNIHILATOR
(NHL) Calgary vs. Edmonton,
Money Line: -172.00 Calgary (Away)
Result: Win
The Calgary Flames are off a 4-1 loss at St. Louis Thursday and need to bounce back with a win here against Pacific Division rival the Edmonton Oilers to stay on the front foot in the playoff race. They're currently third in the division but with only one point to spare to the Kings who are on equal points with the Jets for the final wild card in the West. Edmonton has lost two consecutive games getting outscored by a total of 13-3, and although they're hosting an Alberta rival I don't think they'll be able to keep it up with an ultra-motivated Flames team.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Ben Scrivens - The 28 year old gave up five goals on 21 shots in the 8-2 loss against the Kings Thursday before being chased off the ice after only two periods. He's allowed 21 goals over his last five games and is 0-3-1 behind a 3.55 GAA lifetime against the Flames.

2. Previous Meetings - The Flames have the opportunity to sweep the five game series here after winning four straight games on the season already. They've won five straight at Edmonton, including the season opener which they claimed with a comfortable 5-2 victory.

3. X-Factor - The Flames Joe Colborne may only have seven goals and 20 assists to his name this season, but he sure is upping his game when facing the Oilers as the 25 year old has three goals and three assists over the first four meetings,

Selection: This is a play on the Calgary Flames (8*)
