"The Coach's" Early 3-Game MLB Report - Break Out The Brooms!
(MLB) Colorado vs. Milwaukee,
Money Line: -148.00 Milwaukee (Home)
Result: Loss
The shell-shocked Milwaukee Brewers are coming into this contest looking to avoid being swept in a series at home against the Rockies for the first time since 2009. The Rockies have out-scored the Brewers 15-2 over the first two meetings, but when looking at the pitching match-up tonight I have little doubt that the Rockies will have to wait a bit longer for another sweep at Miller Park.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Pitching - The Rockies will hand the ball to 24 year old Eddie Butler who made only three starts last year as he compiled a 6.75 ERA over 16 innings while giving up seven walks and two homers. Only 4 2/3 of those innings took place outside of Colorado as he surrendered five runs on eight hits at Dodger Stadium. The Brewers will counter with Wily Peralta who may only be one year older than Butler, but fact is he's already in his third year as a starter for the club. Peralta won both his starts against the Rockies last year and was a solid 10-6 with a 3.71 ERA home in Milwaukee on the season.

2. Road Woes - The Rockies are notoriously poor outside of Coors Field and were a league-worst 21-60 on the road 2014. I'm still not convinced they've turned a corner and the first two wins here in Milwaukee will most likely be nothing more than blips on the radar come the end of the season.

3. X-Factor - Ryan Braun had to exit the first game of the series after only two at bats with a strain in his right side. The 31 year old Brewer is likely to be back for tonight's contest ready to face Butler for the first time in his career, and he was batting a solid .286 home at Miller Park last season.

Selection: This is a play on the Milwaukee Brewers (8*)
