The Calgary Flames are the worst team in the league regarding goals against, so one might think that we will be in for a high-scoring contest when they host the surging Chicago Blackhawks Friday night. I think differently though, and my money is on this game to go under the total.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Blackhawks Road Woes - Chicago is only 3-5-0 away from home this season, in large part because of a sputtering offense. It is scoring a respectable 3.09 goals per game home at United Center, but that number drops to 2.38 away from home.
2. Trends - Nine of the last 11 head-to-head meetings have stayed under the total and the under is 3-0-1 in the Flames last four overall.
3. X-Factor - The Flames have won three straight at home with just a total of five goals allowed.
