(NHL) St. Louis vs. Nashville,
Total: 5.00 | -120.00 Under
Result: Loss
The set-up: The Predators were the No. 8 seed in Western Conference but swept the top-seeded Blackhawks out of the playoffs, 4-0. They then won Game 1 at St. Louis to wrest home ice advantage away form the Blues and while the team's five-game winning streak in the 2017 postseason ended with 3-2 loss in Game 2, Nashville returned home and won Game 3 by the score of 3-1. The Predators now have a chance to "take control" of this second round series with a win over the Blues in Game 4.

St. Louis: Head coach Mike Yeo made some line changes at practice Monday after stating his team was not competitive enough in Game 3. "I feel like we're chasing the game way too much," defenseman Joel Edmundson told reporters. "We're waiting for something to happen when we should be dictating it." The Blues have to improve on special teams as well. They are just 2-for-22 with the man advantage in the playoffs and have allowed five power-play goals in eight games. More discipline would also be a great help. St. Louis avoided the penalty box in Game 2, aside from a coincidental minor in the third period, but then the Blues took a half-dozen minors on Sunday.

Nashville: The Predators have relied on their talented defense corps in their playoff run. Nashville has received seven goals and 14 assists from its blue-liners in the first seven games of the postseason. Ellis has tallied in back-to-back games and has three goals in the postseason to go along with five assists (owns a six-game point streak), while P.K. Subban (six points) and Roman Josi (three goals, five points) have also made big contributions.

The pick: Nashville has played seven games this postseason with just one game ending with a final of more than five goals (Game 1 of this series, 4-3). St. Louis has played eight games and only two games have ended with finals of more than five goals, the team's Game 1 loss to Nashville in this series and a 4-3 OT series-clinching Game 5 win at Minnesota. Often, sports betting relies on a 'gut feeling.' Mine says make the Over a 10* play.
