Rogers' Oilers/Ducks Game 5 WINNER >> Had Rangers Last Night!
(NHL) Edmonton vs. Anaheim,
Money Line: -136.00 Anaheim (Home)
Result: Win
The set-up: The Anaheim Ducks were in the midst of a 12-game home point streak (11-0-1) as they began their second round series with the Edmonton Oilers. However, the Oilers won both Games 1 and 2 at Honda Center. Shaken, the Ducks traveled to Rogers Centre in Edmonton for the next two games but just like against the Flames in Calgary, Alberta has been good to the Ducks this postseason. Anaheim won Games 3 and 4 in Calgary and did the same in Edmonton, as the series now returns to Southern California for the all-important Game 5, tied at two-all. "It's a weird series when you take that both teams have went into one another's building and won both games," Anaheim head coach Randy Carlyle told reporters. "So I'm sure they're looking at it and saying, 'We've got road-ice advantage. We're going to try to defend it. It's our serve.'"

Edmonton: Captain Connor McDavid, the Art Ross Trophy winner, had a highlight-reel goal in Game 3 and added another tally in Wednesday's 4-3 OT loos, giving him a point in five of his last six contests. He wasn't hanging his head after his team dropped both contests at Rogers Place telling reporters, "I think everyone feels pretty good, even though losing both (games) at home is not ideal. We're going into a building that we feel pretty comfortable playing in, we've had success there before. We've been a pretty good road team this year, the guys seem to jell on the road."

Anaheim: Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf had a four-point performance in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime victory (two goals / two assists) and surpassed Teemu Selanne (35) for first place on the franchise's all-time playoff list (he also has a team-best 13 points in eight playoff games this postseason). Jakob Silfverberg scored the second-fastest overtime goal in franchise playoff history when he tallied 45 seconds into the extra session in Game 4, extending his goal-scoring streak to four contests and playoff total to seven in eight games.

The pick: Edmonton got blasted 7-0 on April 18 at San Jose in the first round, tying that series at two-all. However, the Oilers responded by taking the next two games to advance and head coach Todd McLellan'sexpects the team to step up. "We won two games in (the Ducks') building. Obviously, it's a road series," he told the Edmonton Journal. "We'll take road-ice advantage into Game 5." I'm sticking with Todd's prediction and will make Edmonton an 8* play.
