Stroman threw a complete game in his only career start against Milwaukee back on April 12 but suffered the loss despite giving up only two runs. Garza has pitched well in his five starts this season, allowing three ERs once and two or fewer in each of the other four outings. He settled for a no-decision at San Diego last Wednesday, after allowing one run on four hits over six innings. Garza's made 13 career starts against Toronto, going just 6-6 (team is 7-6) but he owns an impressive 2.14 ERA in those outings.
The pick: Toronto's' bullpen leads the American League with 163 innings of relief work, mostly because of the growing number of starters ending up on the disabled list. Toronto would love a long start from Stroman, who has worked into the sixth inning in each of his past three starts (17 2/3 IP / 2 ERs / 1.02 ERA / team is 3-0) and he will be looking to win his fourth consecutive decision. Garza has been impressive since returning from the disabled list in late April (2.43 ERA & 1.11 WHIP through 29 2/3 innings) but he's been a steady underachiever through the years.
