Guerra returned from an absence of 7 1/2 weeks to make his second start of the season, working 5 2/3 innings and holding Arizona to one run on three hits over 5 2/3 innings. He was a revelation for Milwaukee in 2016, going 9-3 with a 2.81 ERA in 20 starts (team was 14-6 and plus-$1132, the 9th-best mark among starters). DeGrom had one of his worst starts of the season at Milwaukee back on May 14 with six innings of four-run ball (took a no-decision in that 11-9 loss) but he has rebounded to win his last two starts while permitting just one run over 15 1/3 innings. In fact, deGrom will be looking to to extend his unbeaten string to seven starts (team is 5-1 in his last six, the loss coming vs. Milwaukee) and give New York's bullpen an easy night after it pitched 6 2/3 innings in Tuesday's 12-inning affair. DeGrom is 3-1 with a 2.92 ERA in six starts versus the Brewers (Mets are 4-2).
