3-Game NCAAB SWEEPER PASS
(NCAAB) Tulsa vs. East Carolina,
Point Spread: 8.50 | -106.00 East Carolina (Home)
Result: Loss
The set-up: The East Carolina Pirates are 10-17 overall and just 4-12 in American Athletic Conference. They get set to welcome the 17-11 Golden Hurricane (10-6 in AAC) to Greenville for the team's home finale on Thursday. The Pirates enter having lost three in a row and most recently absorbed a 109-58 pummeling at the hands of No. 25 Houston. Tulsa looks to bounce back after its six-game winning streak was ended with an 82-74 loss this past Sunday at No. 10 Cincinnati.

Tulsa: The Golden Hurricane are led by the 6-8 Junior Etou (15.6 & 7.7), who has registered at least 15 points in seven of the last eight games and has drained multiple three-pointers in seven of those eight contests. PG Taplin (12.0-3.8-4.4) and SF Jeffries (10.3 & 4.9) are the other double digit scorers. Jeffries has 31 blocks on the season, one more than all of his teammates combined, despite playing in only 22 games. The 6-8 Martins Igbanu (9.0 & 5.8) has given the team a lift over the past three games by making 13-of-16 from the floor while guard Corey Henderson Jr.(9.8) is connecting on just 10-of-31 over the last four outings.

East Carolina: The Pirates can't finish in last place in the AAC (South Florida is 1-15) but that is about the only good news for ECU, which allowed Houston to make two-thirds of its shots from the floor and from the three-point line Sunday (see above). B.J. Tyson (24 points), Shawn Williams (14) and Isaac Fleming (13) accounted for 88 percent of the team's offense against the Cougars as the rest of the team shot a collective 3-of-15 from the floor. Tyson has reached the 20-point mark in three of the last four games and leads the team in scoring at 15.1 PPG. PG Fleming (12.9 & 4.9 APG) plus fellow guards Barkley (12.0 & 7.3) and Williams (12.0) also average in double digits.

The pick: East Carolina was dominated by Tulsa 79-53 in its American Athletic Conference opener and not much has changed in the last two months. However, Tulsa's Taplin missed the Cincinnati game with an ankle injury and is questionable for Thursday. He'll be missed (see above for his stats). Tulsa is just 3-7 in true road games, where it averages just 65.9 PPG. Can't see them laying almost double digits away from home, even against this weak opponent. Take the points and make East Carolina an 8* play.
