The set-up: Buffalo is 2-0 and Columbus is 0-2. Despite losing many key players over the off-season and not being the same team as they were last year, I believe the Blue Jackets buckle down here and find a way to get the job done vs. the over-achieving Sabres. Carter Hutton has looked great early for Buffalo, but I believe he'll have his hands full here vs. the focused Columbus side.
The pick: Joonas Korpisalo has a big opportunity here to help his team earn its first win. Note though that Columbus has in fact done extremely well in this spot for bettors, going 34-17 (+13.6 units) following a loss by two goals or more in its previous game. Buffalo on the other hand is a terrible 16-33 (-13.5 units) in its last 39 after scoring four or more goals in its previous game. Great value on the desperate home side.
